About the artist

Julie Sullock was born in Clapham and still lives in South London.
She studied Fine Art at St. Martins School of Art from 1983 to 1986.
After this she completed an M.A. in printmaking at Brighton Polytechnic.

Julie’s abstract work is inspired by the landscape of Wales, Dorset, Southern France and the London skyline.

Her paintings concentrate on the use of colour and mood.
The composition of a painting is also important element in her work.
Some of her work reflects her interest in buildings, doorways and reflections of brake lights in the rain.

Julie has continued to make prints since leaving Art College; producing lithographs, silkscreens, collographs and most recently etchings.

Julie is a member of Southbank Printmakers which has a gallery in Gabriels wharf, where her work can be viewed.

She has exhibited widely in both UK and abroad.
Exhibitions include:
  • OXO Gallery, SE1
  • Landau Gallery, Germany
  • Mall Galleries, SW1
  • Geffrye Museum, E2

In 2007 Julie won the Juliet Gomperts Award for painting in Tuscany.
Julie will be showing at Morley Gallery, SE1 from November 17th-22nd 2008.
